EMBRACE aims to improve the livelihood of the community by developing the educational capabilities and removing other barriers within the community itself. The team at EMBRACE have been working for over ten years with the Badjao community.

As an ethnic minority group, the Badjao community experience high levels of discrimination and exclusion from society. This results in them often living in unfit conditions, without basic sanitation, running water or electricity. Many Badjao go through life without a formal education and struggle to find employment, making it difficult to feed their families.
Our main goals are to assist them in achieving better education, improved living conditions and increased medical aid. We have been working with one particular village in Davao for a number of years but our long-term goal is to work with more Badjao communities across the Philippines and help them on their way to achieving equal standing in society.
